It was in the library of the Åby Family Manor, in 1990, that a centuries-old rye crispbread recipe was rediscovered, marking the beginning of a unique gastronomic adventure.
Johanna von Wright, then owner of the manor, ran a retirement home for horses. To finance her activities, she organized a Christmas market, during which she made these crispy rye crisps for the first time.
The success was immediate, and Johanna decided to continue this artisanal production.
Since its beginnings, this crispbread has won over renowned chefs and caterers all the way to Paris. Originally, the crisps were baked in large sheets, cut by hand.
Even today, each crisp bears the mark of an artisanal touch: Nordic rye finely baked at a low temperature to preserve its unique character and texture.
